Nortel Ethernet Switch Features

This is a great document that outlines the Nortel Ethernet Switch product line and highlights the major feature sets.

Ethernet Switching Feature Matrix July 2007 Public Version.pdf

This is public information so hopefully I won't be getting any nasty email messages from anyone.

Cheers!

UPDATE: April 3, 2008

Here's a new version of the Ethernet Switching Feature Matrix dated November 2007.

Please don't post links to Nortel's website that require special access.

I've just deleted a comment that contained just such a link because it's not public. Access to the link requires the user to login to the Nortel support portal.

If you would like me to update my original post with a new version of the Nortel Switch matrix then please drop me an email message.

Thanks!

Just take about the ERS1424T. It does not have the VRRP feature implemented!!

You are correct.

The ERS1424T does NOT have the VRRP feature. I believe the general reason is there's no really good reason to have such a high-end feature in such a low-end switch.

If you're building a resilient network that is capable of surviving a switch/router failure you would probably start with an ERS1600 series at a minimum.

Cheers!
